Why Truth Mom?

Let me introduce myself. I'm a married new mom of a crazy, cute baby boy. I might be younger than most at 23 years old, and believe me, I've gotten lots of judgement for that. Throughout my pregnancy journey, I found a ton of helpful mommy blogs and Instagram accounts that made me feel a little less lonely. Because let's get real, the journey to motherhood can be lonely for anyone, even if you have a loving partner and supportive family. It's something you can never fully prepare for, no matter how ready you think you are. This is why I'm creating the Truth Mom blog; I want to share everything that I felt was unexpected throughout these experiences so other moms can feel less alone and soon-to-be moms can better prepare for their own journeys.

While every mom, pregnancy and baby are different, we only really see one version of motherhood in most movies or mainstream examples; you might puke a little, you have a cute little bump, you push for 5 minutes (naturally, of course) and BAM happiest time of your life! Let's not forget the snapbacks... The ones where mama has a perfect, flat tummy right after having her baby. This is so not the experience for everyone. I will share my truths here, and I hope that other moms can find it relatable - OR NOT! Because that's the point. We don't all have the most amazing or the same experiences. This is a space for the good, the bad and the ugly to co-exist with the happy, beautiful and rewarding moments. Here comes my truth.
